Ballooning Utah

Outstanding scenery brings many people to Utah, to see our twisting red-rock canyons, desert lakes, alpine meadows, craggy mountain peaks and many other diverse landscapes.

Well, a half-dozen multi-colored hot air balloons definitely add variety to the scenery. Balloon festivals are held in many locations around the state. They offer the opportunity to see balloons aloft, fun activities and the change to learn about or even participate in this enjoyable sport.

Many companies offer balloon rides, allowing people to see Utah's scenic wonders while dancing with the wind, high above the ground.

Arts City Days balloon festival, early June, around Springville, near the city of Provo.

Bluff International Balloon Festival, second weekend of January, around the town of Bluff, deep in the heart of southern Utah's canyon country.

Monument Valley Balloon Company provides breathtaking balloon rides through the monoliths and mesas of Monument Valley. Truly some of the most awe-inspiring rides available!

Ogden Valley Balloon Festival, held the third weekend of August at Wolf Creek Resort in Eden. Also features events throughout the Ogden Valley such as arts exhibits, Plein Aire competitions, crafts and live entertainment.
