Canyonlands National Park
Canyonlands National Park includes a huge area of rugged land west and south of Moab, Utah. It consists of canyons and plateaus carved by two mighty rivers - the Colorado and the Green. The park offers some of the most challenging 4X4 roads and whitewater rapids in the world. It also offers great opportunities to hike, bike and engage in other recreational activities.
The park is composed of five unique regions. They are relatively close together, as the crow flies, but direct travel between them is virtually impossible because of the rough nature of the landscape. People who want to explore the park should focus on one region at a time.
1. Island in the Sky District
2. The Needles District
3. The Maze District
4. Horseshoe Canyon
5. The Rivers
